Well, there seems to be another tent-pole securing the legitimacy of the fan-popularized word "Yautja" as the proper name for the Predator species, with the October 19th release of the film Predators on Blu Ray and DVD.
The new Predators Blu Ray/DVD Disc release features among its numerous behind-the-scenes documentaries and special features a short documentary section entitled "Yautja Transformed," marking the first-ever official film-related use of the word in the 23-year history of the franchise.
The documentary section at hand actually just includes behind-the-scenes interviews on how and why the film's new "Super Predators" were designed and developed. And while the section title is the only mention of the term made in any text or spoken comments…

Just three more creators of one last comic to make articles for, and all of the creative teams for the entire 20 year old Predator comics line will be entered into Xenopedia!
The last title, the Predators: Preserve the Game movie sequel. This will mean that both the AvP and Predator lines are covered in this way. Next will probably be the Aliens comics creators, unless I decide to do the cross-overs, first.
This continues to be fascinating and deeply educational experience for me, compiling theses these articles and reading the backgrounds and bios of all these artists, writers and editors from the past thirty years. So, I've moved on now to filling in articles about the creators behind each comic book series one by one.
My first focus was on the editors. Comic book editorial staffs play a mysterious and yet integral background role in the development of any franchise. In fact, they are the real, unseen power behind a line and largely responsible for much of what we as fans react to. They decide what kind of books are produced, what style is followed, how much of the stories will deal with previous material and how much will be new. They are thus responsible more than anyone else for the interconnectedness or lack thereof of a comic book franchise like the A/P/AVP lines.
