Now that work on Duke Nukem Forever is pretty much finished, looks like Gearbox Software returned full time to Aliens: Colonial Marines, After some hiatus, the game is to be published by Sega in Spring 2012 for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Here's the newest trailer for the game:
Unlike the Aliens vs Predator games by Rebellion and Monolith, it will be a squad-based game, with the player in four Colonial Marines, each with a different personality and weapons such as primary, secondary weapons and grenades. Orders can be issued using context-sensitive commands, and characters can be switched between. To immerse the player, no HUD present in most FPS titles is visible on screen. Various types of enemy Xenomorphs will assault the player and their comrades each with different tactics. Quick time events will be used at certain times, such as a facehugger attack. There will also be co-operative multiplayer modes available.
The game is also being displayed at SEGA’s booth at this week’s E3 Expo in Los Angeles, so stay tuned for more details to come!
