Upper Deck Entertainment (UDE) is an American publisher of trading cards and sports related items such as figurines and die-cast toys and memorabilia publisher based in Carlsbad, California. It was founded by Paul Sumner and Richard McWilliam in 1988. For several years, Upper Deck produced the English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian and language versions of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, a collectible card game, licensed from Konami.[1] Other collectible card games from the company have included the Winx Club Collectible Card Game, which has since been canceled, the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game based on the popular MMORPG, which Upper Deck lost the license to in early 2010, Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game and the DC Comics Trading Card Game, using their proprietary VS System, which was canceled in early 2009. The company has also released many non-game oriented sports-based and multimedia companion trading card sets.

Upper Deck Entertainment published Legendary Encounters: An Alien Deck Building Game in summer 2014. The company has also produced a number of trading cards based on the Alien franchise.
