Long transit times meant that terraformers required leisure activities to allow relaxation and to optimize mission performance. The USS Sheridan had standard issue hardware for sustaining mind and body.

MOM was the ship's Master Onboard Memory -- Primary Fact File. MOM was a 13th Generation - Artificial intelligence system, its primary function was total automation of all shipboard systems and costed $10M. The hardware configurations of other Sheridan mechanicals were grossly inferior to MOM.
