USS Fidanza

The USS Fidanza was a ship of unknown class that was overrun by a Xenomorph infestation. The vessel was later boarded and retaken by a squad under the command of Major Thomas Van Zandt, the only time a successful Xenomorph clearance operation has been carried out aboard an interstellar craft.

History

Van Zandt's operation aboard the Fidanza turned him into something of a legend within the United States Colonial Marine Corps. Owing to the success of the operation aboard the ship, it is likely that the Fidanza was subsequently repaired and returned to service.

Trivia

• The Fidanza continues the tradition of naming spacecraft in the Alien franchise after elements from Joseph Conrad novels — Giovanni Battista Fidanza is the real name of the titular character in the novel Nostromo.
• The Fidanza is never mentioned in Aliens vs. Predator. Van Zandt's history with it is only mentioned in the game's official strategy guide.
