"So whose body was in your cryo-tube?"
"That's a longer story."
Winter and Hicks regarding Turk (from Aliens: Colonial Marines)

Turk was a colonist who, in 2179, was kidnapped while in hypersleep by the Weyland-Yutani Corporation and taken aboard the USS Legato, presumably for the purpose of Xenomorph experimentation or breeding. When the Xenomorphs on the Legato escaped, Turk managed to flee the ship with Samwell Stone by boarding the USS Sulaco, to which the Legato was tethered.

Turk became trapped in a cryotube on the Sulaco and died when he was ejected in an EEV that subsequently crash-landed on Fiorina "Fury" 161; in the crash, a support beam impaled and crushed him. Following his death, and due to the severity of his injuries, Turk was mistaken for Corporal Dwayne Hicks.

Biography[]

Meeting Lisbeth[]

"Damn Stone, solid hit."
Turk to Stone (from Stasis Interrupted)

Turk and his accomplice Samwell Stone were on their way to the umbilical connecting the Legato to the USS Sulaco when the two saved Lisbeth Hutchins from a Weyland-Yutani researcher when Stone knocked the employee out, Turk praised Stone on the punch before Stone asked Lisbeth if she was alright. Lisbeth thanked him and Stone informed her that there was a Marine vessel attached to the Legato, with Turk adding that they were going to use it to escape.

Lisbeth said she was going to find her family and Stone pointed to the dead Xenomorph, noting that it would be best if they stuck together. The trio made their way through the Legato, disabling a turret and heading upstairs where they used an elevator to go down to the same level as the umbilical. As the elevator went down, something went bump on top, causing Turk to panic.

Reaching the umbilical[]

"Love the attitude, but we're a little short on firepower here guys."
Turk, to Lisbeth and Stone (from Stasis Interrupted)

The three then encountered another sentry turret that was gunning down Xenomorphs, Lisbeth snuck around it and disabled it, allowing them to continue on their path. They made it to right outside the umbilical entrance, but it was being guarded by two Weyland-Yutani PMC Elites who were torching any civilians who tried to get off the ship. Lisbeth wanted to find a way to take them down but Turk expressed concerns about their lack of firepower. After Stone opened the door, Lisbeth used an open floor vent to access a conveyer belt with two Facehugger specimens in containers on top. Lisbeth activated the convey belt and sent the Facehuggers after the guards who were then subdued.

As the three survivors approached the now subdued guards, Stone picked up a gun and went to shoot the guards. However, Lisbeth stopped him, wanting them to suffer as her friend had. While Stone was talking to Lisbeth, Turk had picked up an M39 Submachine Gun from a bunch of firearms that he kicked into a pile, away from the bodies of the PMCs. Stone tried to convince Lisbeth to board the Sulaco with him and Turk, but she insisted on finding her parents.

Boarding the USS Sulaco and waking Hicks[]

"Guys! We got company."
Turk, to Hicks and Stone (from Stasis Interrupted)

Turk and Stone proceeded to board the docked USS Sulaco via the umbilical as they been followed by Xenomorphs from outside the umbilical. There they found the damaged Synthetic Bishop, Corporal Hicks, Lieutenant First Class Ripley, and Newt in cryosleep; they promptly woke Hicks in the hope of obtaining some answers. Before they could question him, PMCs began to arrive on the scene. They hid and ambushed the three PMCs by surprise, however, one of them managed to beat up Turk and threw him into Hicks' stasis tube and locked him inside. During the fight, stray gunfire from one of PMC's M39 Submachine Guns grazed the Facehugger that was attached to Ripley's face, spilling its acid blood onto the floor and starting an electrical fire. As a result of the fire, the occupied stasis tubes (including the one holding Turk) were loaded into a Type 337 EEV and ejected from the ship.

Death and mistaken identity[]

"The Corporal was impaled by that safety support. He never knew what hit him."
Clemens, mistaking Turk's corpse for Hicks (from Alien3)
HicksWakesUp!

Cpl. Dwayne Hicks, whom Turk was mistaken for.

The EEV eventually crash-landed on Fiorina "Fury" 161, splashing down off the coast near the planet's Class C Work Correctional Unit; Turk was killed in the crash when he was partially crushed and impaled by a loose support beam, with the injuries he received rendering him unidentifiable. As a result, he was mistaken for Hicks by Ellen Ripley and Harry Andrews. His body was taken to the morgue for investigation. During a funeral, Turk's body was cremated, alongside Newt's corpse, in a furnace.

Trivia[]

  • Turk represents a significant retcon in the Alien franchise. In Alien3, Hicks was said to have been killed on Fiorina 161, yet Stasis Interrupted later changed the male victim of the EEV crash in that film to Turk, while Hicks was still alive after waking from stasis and being taken into Weyland-Yutani custody.
  • Turk's model is used as a generic dead colonist throughout the first mission of Stasis Interrupted.
