"Let's load up the shuttle with all the supplies we can carry and lay low in the scavenger's ship! Shit, Rook put the word out to headquarters before he got greased...Rescue oughta be coming as soon as they get the message!"
Torrenson (from Aliens: Dead Orbit)

Torrenson was a Security Officer aboard the fuel depot Sphacteria orbiting the gas giant Pylos. He and his crewmates faced a Xenomorph infestation after an encounter with a mysterious vessel.

Torrenson would eventually break down under the pressure, and would purposefully lure the creatures to his whereabouts in a drunken, delirious state, resulting in his death.

Biography[]

Torrenson was a Security Officer aboard the Sphacteria. Despite this, Torrenson's pistol actually contained no ammunition, as unknown events following one of his alcoholic benders resulted in him having to blast all ammo into space under Captain Hassan's orders.

Encounter with the unmarked vessel[]

"Only frontier colonies still use the yuan. Shit, they must've been way out in the sticks. That's free space. The company won't even touch it."
Torrenson (from Aliens: Dead Orbit)

With an unknown vessel approaching the Sphacteria, Captain Hassan attempted to contact the ship to no success. He ultimately had himself, Torrenson, Wascylewski, Park and Harrow board the ship to investigate.

The crew boarded the ship and explored its dilapidated interior. Eventually, they came across the hypersleep chambers, containing three humans - twin males and a female. Hassan wished to open them up, though Torrenson advised against it, until Hassan assured him that his 'bases were covered'. After Wascylewski tinkered with the system, Park flipped the switch to open the chambers, only for them to begin violently overheating due to the coolant tank being ruptured, burning those in the chambers alive. The crew managed to break open the pods and evacuate the victims back into the Sphacteria, where Harrow and Park were attempting treatment.

Wascylewski went on to recover data that revealed that the ship's last entry had them exchanging supplies for Chinese Yuan, with Torrenson clarifying that only frontier colonies in desolate space still used the currency. Wassy deduced to the others that if the crew initiated emergency procedures aboard the ship, then the vessel would have autopiloted them to the nearest corporate location - the Sphacteria.

Infestation[]

"...It just grabbed him...Came right out of the vent and...Grabbed him. First Rook, now the Captain. I doubt Hassan even saw it coming. Must've broke both of his fucking arms pulling him through that grate. It just grabbed him."

Torrenson and Park argue.

Suddenly, Hassan was contacted by Harrow, who called him down to the med bay. Torrenson followed Hassan and the others to the medbay, where they saw Harrow and Park attempting to hold down the seizing female salvager. Suddenly, two Chestbursters erupted from the twin's chests, with the crew looking on in horror as the creatures escaped into the depths of the fuel depot.

After an unknown period of time searching for the Xenomorphs, in which Rook was taken by the fully-grown creatures, Hassan was also suddenly snatched up into a ventilation shaft in front of Torrenson, Park and Wacylewski. The three subsequently began weighing up their odds of survival. The gradual losses of his crewmates took their toll on Torrenson, and he soon began slipping. He desired to take a shuttle and retreat into the scavenger's vessel until rescue arrived, whilst Park was concerned about Rook and Hassan still being alive. Wassy angrily broke up their fight, and the group decided to check up on Harrow, still in the med-bay surveying the last remaining passenger.

Confrontation with the salvager and separation[]

"Forget about her! She's gone. Let the things deal with her while we get the fuck off this station!"

Torrenson lunges at the salvager.

The three suddenly heard a crash and rushed to the med-bay, where they were greeted with the fully awake passenger holding Harrow hostage with a scalpel by his neck. Park attempted to calm her down whilst Torrenson suddenly lunged at her with a Stun Baton. She dodged him, however, causing him to stumble onto one of the operating tables, revealing one of the other passenger's corpses to the salvager. In a state of shock and rage, she brutally slit Harrow's throat and ran away. After Harrow bled out in Park's arms, the rest attempted to catch the salvager. The group were too late, however, as they watched as she took the Sphacteria's shuttle. The shuttles' umbilical however, was still attached, causing it to be propelled back into the fuel depot.

With the Sphacteria badly damaged and burning, Torrenson, Park and Wascylewski ran to the cargo bay. There, Wascylewski retrieved a case of mining charges, and outlined his plan for their survival. The sudden appearance of one of the Xenomorphs caused a terrified Torrenson to flee and abandon the others, whilst Park and Wascylewski retreated to the observation deck.

Whilst alone on the station, Torrenson would be attacked by the creatures again, receiving claw marks over his chest and shoulders, though he managed to survive.

Death[]

ADOTorrenson6

Torrenson lures out the Xenos.

Losing his sanity, Torrenson would go on to get severely drunk within the depths of the station, yelling and jeering nonsensically. Wascylewski would encounter him, now the only one left aboard the station. Though he attempted to shut him up, Torrenson continued laughing maniacally, resulting in the two Xenomorphs he had lured out emerging from behind. Wassy fled as one of the creatures grabbed Torrenson and headbit him.

Personality and Traits[]

"Shuttle's gone, station's sunk. How the fuck did this happen? What are we supposed to do now?!!"
Torrenson (from Aliens: Dead Orbit)

Torrenson was cynical, crass and an irresponsible alcoholic. He was the first known crewmember to lose his cool and begin panicking during the Xeno infestation on the Sphacteria, and he was far more concerned with saving himself than Rook or Hassan, whom Park attested were still alive.

Eventually, the pressure became too much for Torrenson, and he slipped into a drunken, suicidal madness.

Equipment[]

"Torrenson's got his popgun, but you made him jettison all the ammo after his last bender."
Wascylewski to Hassan (from Aliens: Dead Orbit)

Torrenson was armed with an unidentified pistol during his service on the fuel-depot, though it contained no ammunition. He also carried a Stun Baton during the infestation.
