Name?[]

Anyone have any idea where the "BD-409" name came from? In Alien3 (might only be in the extended cut, I'm not sure) Andrews calls it a "337 model" EEV. The book Aliens: Colonial Marines Technical Manual calls it a "Bodenwerke Gemeinschift Type 337" EEV. So where did BD-409 come from?--Leigh Burne (talk) (Contribs) 09:07, June 4, 2013 (UTC)

As I've had no response (and as no one on any of the forums I've asked on can provide a reliable source for the existing name), unless there are any major objections, I'm going to rename the page to "Type 337 EEV", referencing the Tech Manual and the film as sources.--Leigh Burne (talk) (Contribs) 14:50, June 6, 2013 (UTC)
I did a quick google search and came up with these: http://www.zealot.com/forum/showthread.php?p=967488 http://www.therpf.com/f11/alien-3-bd-409-eev-132496/ http://complexplastic.blogspot.co.uk/2011/11/alien-3-bd409-eev-completed.html
Basically while there seems to be no reliable sources for it, its apparently known by many folk as a BD-409 EEV. There must be a source for it somewhere because that name had to have come from something, another wiki had the name as well but there were no references at all. I will look into this matter further when I can. For now, I have no objections to you renaming the page, especially if you have sources to support it. Found this too. http://www.vosoft.nl/alien/EEV-tech-info.html  http://colonialmarines.wikispaces.com/Vehicles http://scifipedia.wikispaces.com/Conestoga+Class+Starship+USS+Sulaco  Still no direct source though, need to find where the name come from, commentary or behind the scenes etc. I will check my alien 3 dvd tomorrow. Yeah, as I said the name's used all over the net. But I could never find an actual source for it, certainly not one I'd call reliable. Normally I'd just let it go, but as I've found sources that specifically contradict the widespread name I figured it's better to go with those sources. I haven't looked at the behind the scenes stuff on the Alien3 Blu-ray for a while, but I don't remember there being a lot of time set aside for the EEV in the features. By all means check again. But as I said, in the film itself it's known as a 337.
http://www.vosoft.nl/alien/EEV-tech-info.html As an aside, this one's interesting. It looks like it's the exact text from the Tech Manual but with Type 337 changed to BD-409 throughout!--Leigh Burne (talk) (Contribs) 07:52, June 7, 2013 (UTC)
Apparently it comes from the Alien 3 UK movie adaptation comic issue 2. Page 3 of (I think) Leigh Burne's BD-409 topic with xeno alpha 07's response--Toa Quarax (talk) (Contribs) 06:10, October 3, 2013 (UTC)
Yep that was me :) Forgot to transcribe the info to here!--Leigh Burne (talk) (Contribs) 07:52, October 3, 2013 (UTC)

I was watching Alien3 and I noticed that when Ripley is taking parts from the EEV, you can see the W-Y logo on one of the parts. So I guess W-Y manufactures some of the parts for the EEV.--Toa Quarax (Talk) (Contribs) 23:11, November 23, 2013 (UTC)

Yes, originally the EEV had a large W-Y logo painted prominently on the outside too, but this was removed before filming.--Leigh Burne (Talk) (Contribs) 09:13, November 25, 2013 (UTC)
