It was living in the escape pod with enough resources to keep a human alive for two years. It isn't unreasonable to think it gained biomass by finding and taking advantange of some of those resources. 24.63.192.178 19:33, June 11, 2012 (UTC)

Wow, is "Trilobite" the best name you guys could come up with? The creature looks nothing like a trilobite. Seriously, "Trilobite"? Wouldn't "Proto-Facehugger" be a better name? 75.146.54.102 05:45, June 12, 2012 (UTC)

It was originally called premature-facehugger but that was unsuitable.

Proto-facehugger would imply that it is a facehugger, now it does has the same characteristics but we do not know for certain if xenomorphs decended from these, they could just be another bio-weapon with similar qualities. I theorize that xenomorphs and these aliens share the same source (black stuff) but they come from different infected hosts. i.e The squid came from an infected human impregnating a woman, xenomorphs may have come from a different infected life form. Trilobite is still a terrible name. Trilobites looked like beetles, not big squid-starfish things. 99.240.47.3 05:31, June 26, 2012 (UTC)

honestly it reminded me of a belamite more but oh well, could you have come up with anything better?Spellbinder666 (talk) (Contribs) 20:23, July 11, 2012 (UTC)

Aliens trilobite by hellraptor-d54ebfx

trilobite-ish

It was not us that came up with the name (as far as I know), it was most likely the people behind the film that dubbed it "trilobite". Here check this out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prometheus_(film) Scroll down to the creature effects part. The Cruentus (talk) (Contribs) 18:57, July 11, 2012 (UTC)

instead of calling the tenticle that the trilobite used to impregnate the space jocky why not call it a probiscus like the facehugger173.228.64.59 23:15, November 6, 2012 (UTC)
