Article name

Article needs work but what about feedback on the name? The previous contributor named it "Drone X". I moved it to "Drone (LV-426)" until I remembered Aliens versus Predator (1999 video game) and moved it to Drone (The Alien). Here's a list of contenders:

  • Drone X
  • The Alien
  • Drone (LV-426)--(possible confusion with AVP1 video game)
  • Drone (USCSS Nostromo)
  • Drone (The Alien)
  • Drone (Ripley's Alien)
  • Ripley's Alien
  • Drone (Kane's "son") --(from the novelization)
  • Drone (Kane-spawned)
  • Kane Alien
  • Kane's Alien
  • The Alien (USCSS Nostromo)
  • The Alien (Ripley's first contact)
  • The Alien (Ripley's first encounter)

Well... we do have an article named Grid, so I think Kane's Son would do just fine. --Kluutak (talk) (Contribs) 09:07, June 11, 2011 (UTC)
Don't think it's ever been referenced this way, but how does "Kane Alien" sound? It's clinical sounding, as in, "The Kane Alien", and it's accurate, in that it describes what it is and its host of origin, which complements the "Fill-in-the-blank" Alien" format. Could go something like this: "The Kane Alien was first encountered on LV-426 by GW. Kane of the USCSS Nostromo. Kane first fell victim to the Alien in the Facehugger stage of its lifecycle..." • I agree with Kluutak. The name "Kanes Son" makes it sound like the creature is an individual. Kane Alien sounds like a type of Alien that comes from another alien species called Kane. Also the name Kane's Son is not just in the novel, it is also in the last 3-5 diffrent version of Alien that have come out. Ash is the one that named the creature "Kane's Son".

Ha! Yeah I guess it does! IMO, Kane's "son" is cool but it kind of sounds a little too familiar, not enough like something you might see on a Weyland-Yutani report of the incident. Since this particular Alien is so iconic, so influential to everything that came after it, I'd really like to suggest some version of "The Alien". I've posted a few more ideas to the list I hope everyone will consider. I admit the "Ripley's first contact/encounter" disambiguation might sound a bit clunky at first, but see what you think. :)---CadmiumX99 (talk) (Contribs) 05:44, July 21, 2011 (UTC)

I'd personally rather the article be called Kane's Son, as this is the title that Ash gave the Xenomorph. TroopDude (talk) (Contribs) 20:48, July 13, 2012 (UTC)
