Manufactured by WY

Do we have a source for Weyland-Yutani manufacturing the M56?--Toa Quarax (talk) (Contribs) 20:14, October 6, 2013 (UTC)

I've often wondered that.--Leigh Burne (talk) (Contribs) 08:08, October 7, 2013 (UTC)
The ARMAT Smart Targeting Scope's description says that it is based on existing Smart Gun technology. I think WY manufacturing the M56 comes from AVP2010 when Weyland says that he and the corps are old friends.--Toa Quarax (talk) (Contribs) 15:08, October 7, 2013 (UTC)

Magazine size

I've changed the weapon's magazine capacity to 150 rounds; there isn't really any official info on this (even the Colonial Marines Tech Manual doesn't actually give a magazine capacity for the weapon) and it seems to be different in every game the gun appears in. However, the previously given capacity (600 rounds, from Aliens: Colonial Marines) seems physically impossible — the sentry gun, which chambers the same round as the Smartgun, only has a capacity of 500 rounds (shown in Aliens) despite having a visibly far larger magazine.

The most common capacity I've found for the M56 is 150 rounds; this is used in Aliens vs. Predator and in the multiplayer of Aliens: Colonial Marines. As this figure makes the most sense, I've got with that.--Leigh Burne (Talk) (Contribs) 09:03, December 6, 2013 (UTC)
