Disambiguation or, "puttin' stuff in (parentheses)"[]
Here's Wikipedia's overly technical description. Just consider what they call the "Primary source". How likely is the primary source to be confused with other sources (books, comics, characters)? Look at it this way, when you're having a conversation with someone about "Aliens", "Predators", or even just "Alien", or "Predator", there's a good chance you might have to clarify whether you mean the movies, the creatures from the movies, or the creeps you saw on Chris Hansen's show. And no one would blame you for mixing your "Alien vs. Predator" with your "Aliens vs. Predator". On the other hand, Alien 3, Predator 2, Alien Resurrection, and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (sheesh!) sound an awful lot like movie titles. Only spin-offs from these primary sources require disambigs, things like: Predator 2 (novel), Alien 3 (comic), or Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (commemorative home pregnancy test). So unless the next movie, comic, etc. features a character named "Alien 3" fighting a character named "Predator 2" (hmm... fanfic idea?), my feeling is we should try to avoid disambigs in article titles unless absolutely necessary. - Debatable. It's a bit of a mishmash, part action, part thriller, part drama, part horror and part black comedy. The trouble is, what exactly constitutes those genres is largely down to personal opinion. - I agree, Alien3 isn't really a horror film. Both films are listed as action sci-fi thrillers on IMDb. That's probably right for Resurrection, but I don't think Alien3 is really an action film. - The series' genre shifts a lot except for the "sci fi" part, the first film is a sci-fi/horror, the second is a sci-fi/action and the third film is a much more dramatic and bleak film. A:R seems like the second film only with more far fetchedness(for lack of a better word) and black comedy. - The only quote that article has from Blomkamp is hardly definitive proof of what this film will do. It could easily mean it will just be similar in tone to the first two. Even the article itself isn't sure, because it says "probably" in the title, rather than saying it's definitely happening. I suggest we wait until we get official word from the studio themselves or a proper announcement before making any changes, given how major they will be.--
