On November 10, 2015, a special time-limited Alien vs. Predator event was launched in the game, introducing a host of new Xenomorph and Yautja units, along with a campaign mode loosely inspired by the film Alien vs. Predator. The event lasted for 90 days, ending on February 8, 2016.
AVP Crossover Event
The premise of the Alien vs. Predator event is that a Weyland Corp mining operation in the fictional African nation of Zandia uncovers a vast, ancient subterranean pyramid. From genetic material recovered there, the company develops the ability to clone Xenomorph and Yautja creatures. These deadly organisms are conditioned to be obedient and subsequently employed by the corporate military forces operating in the country to wage warfare on each other. Other, smaller Yautja ruins can also be discovered in Zandia and raided for additional alien resources.
Realising the threat posed by the creatures, Weyland Corp placed a thermonuclear charge at the main temple complex shortly after discovering it, set to obliterate the entire site after 90 days. The explosion ultimately killed any remaining Xenomorphs or Yautja and destroyed the surrounding ruins, marking the end of the event.
