"You're looking at the best drilling team in the world. We'll chew to that depth in seven days."
Quinn (from Alien vs. Predator)

Rusten Quinn was the leader of a drilling team hired by Charles Bishop Weyland to accompany a Weyland Industries expedition to Bouvetøya, Antarctica in 2004. The expedition's objective was to investigate an ancient Pyramid buried beneath the ice there; Quinn's team was hired to bore an access hole through the ice. The Pyramid was discovered to be a Yautja temple and hunting ground where the Predators would breed Xenomorphs for use in their Hunts, and the expedition soon became caught up in the battle between the two species.

Quinn was killed by Scar when the Predators raided the expedition's surface camp.

Biography[]

Early life and expedition to Bouvetøya[]

Prior to joining the Weyland Industries expedition to Bouvetøya, Quinn had prior history with Lex Woods — she had succeeded in having an oil prospecting operation he was running in Alaska shut down on environmental grounds.[2] Quinn and his men were hired by Weyland to bore an access shaft to the pyramid located beneath Razorback Point Whaling Station, but upon arriving at the abandoned settlement the team found the Predators had already driven a passage through the ice to the structure below. When satellite data revealed the tunnel had been bored in less than 24 hours, Quinn immediately became suspicious.

Death[]

"Mikkel...?"
Quinn, shortly before encountering the Predators (from Alien vs. Predator)

When the Predators descended upon Razorback Point and began slaughtering the mercenaries and drillers camped there, Quinn was drawn by the commotion to a hut, where he found the creatures hanging the bodies of Klaus, Boris, Mikkel and Sven from the building's rafters. Fleeing immediately, Quinn encountered more corpses, the bodies of his own men, likewise hanging by the feet, before being confronted by Celtic. Quinn snatched up a Desert Eagle dropped by one of the dead mercenaries, but the weapon had little effect on the Predator and the creature soon attacked and disarmed him.

Engaging Celtic hand-to-hand, Quinn was no match for the creature and was brutally beaten, before being knocked down the nearby tunnel bored through the ice. Unable to stop his descent, Quinn plummeted the entire length of the shaft. When he eventually awoke at its base, barely alive and succumbing to frostbite, he saw Celtic and Chopper pass him by, perhaps assuming he was already dead, and head for the pyramid. However, Quinn's relief at being ignored by the Predators was short-lived, as the third Predator, Scar, approached and brutally killed him with his Wristblades.

Equipment[]

When confronted by Celtic during the Predators' attack on Razorback Point, Quinn briefly armed himself with a Desert Eagle fitted with a lime green laser sight that had been dropped by one of Stafford's mercenaries.

Trivia[]

  • Quinn actor Carsten Norgaard broke a rib during the filming of his fight with Celtic at the mouth of the ice tunnel, but did not attribute the pain to a broken bone at the time. In fact, he continued working for the remainder of the day and all of the following day before realizing the nature of his injury and receiving treatment.[3]
