Ronald Shusett is a film writer and producer. Along with Dan O'Bannon, he is responsible for originating the story for the 1979 film Alien, effectively co-creating the Alien franchise. He also received an executive producer credit on Alien.

In 1974, he was the first to option the short story, "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale", that became the basis of the film Total Recall.

Shusett is sometimes credited as Thilo T. Newman.
