Predator: The Bloody Sands of Time is a two-issue limited comic book series that was first published by Dark Horse Comics from February-March 1992. It was written by and illustrated by Dan Barry, inked by Barry and Chris Warner, lettered by Gail Beckett and colored by Beckett, with cover art by Barry.

In the Predator comics line, Predator: The Bloody Sands of Time was preceded by Predator: Cold War and was followed by Predator: Rite of Passage.

Publisher's Summary

The discovery of a long-lost diary leads to an investigation of Predator visits Earth during World War I. With the planet coming apart at the seams, we discover that the Kaiser wasn't the only one interested in world domination!

Plot

A strange carnage in the Nicaraguan jungle for which an US soldier is blamed responsible leads his defender Central Intelligence Agency operative Griggs Irving to recall similar incidents registered in South Vietnam in 1968 and in France during World War I.

Reprint History

Predator: The Bloody Sands of Time was eventually collected as part of Predator Omnibus: Volume 1 in August 2007.

Behind the Scenes

The concept of the comic was developed by Dan Barry and Mike Richardson.

Comics artist and editor Chris Warner — the artist on Predator (1989 series) — was also the first person to come up with the idea of Aliens vs. Predator in a Dark Horse comics story meeting. He has worked on number Aliens, Predator and AVP titles over the years and currently serves as head editor of all three lines for the company.
