Cover to Predator: Jungle Tales by Val Mayerik
Dark Horse Classics - Predator: Jungle Tales was a one-shot comic book reprint issue published by Dark Horse Comics in March 1995. It featured the two previously released Predator comics stories set in Africa: Predator: Rite of Passage, and Predator: The Pride at Nghasa. The issue was edited by Edward Martin III and featured a new cover by artist Val Mayerik.
Rite of Passage originally appeared in Dark Horse Comics #1 and #2, from Aug.-Sept. 1992. The Pride at Nghasa was originally published in Dark Horse Comics #10 and #12, from May-Aug. 1993. Both stories were eventually also collected in Predator Omnibus: Volume 1 in June 2008.
In the Predator comics line, Predator: Jungle Tales was followed by Predator: 1718 (July 1996).
Rite of Passage

Predator: Rite of Passage was written by Ian Edginton, drawn by Rick Leonardi and inked by Dan Panosian. It was colored by Greg Wright and cover illustrations were provided by Chris Warner.
Plot
An old Maasai warrior remembers when he was a boy, when he and a young Predator come into conflict during their respective rites of passage.
The Pride at Nghasa

Predator: The Pride at Nghasa was written by veteran comics writer Chuck Dixon and illustrated by Enrique Alcatena and colored by Chris Chalenor.
Plot
Kenya, Late August, 1936. A series of night attacks decimate the workers during the building of a new railroad, prompting a famous hunter, two park rangers and their African assistant to track down and fight what the locals call a 'demon of the forest' that is said to appear only when the 'hunting star' crosses the sky.
Behind the Scenes
Jungle Tales came out during a two-year lull in the publishing of new Predator comics for Dark Horse, following the continuous publishing of new material from the first Predator miniseries in 1989 until 1994's Invaders from the Fourth Dimension. The lull would end in 1996 with a whole slate of new Predator comics starting up again with the release of the story Predator: 1718.
The "Dark Horse Classics" title was used a number of times by the company while printing reprint issues. Notably it was also used for Dark Horse's six-issue reprint of the first Aliens vs. Predator miniseries in 1997.
