Mac McDonald (born Terence McDonald; June 18, 1949) is an American actor who played Simpson in the extended Special Edition of Aliens. He also provided the voice of unnamed background characters in Alien: Isolation and voiced Lachance in the 2016 audiobook version of Alien: Out of the Shadows. Other notable films McDonald has appeared in include Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980), Batman (1989), Nightbreed (1990), The Fifth Element (1997) and The 51st State (2001). Aside from his work in film, McDonald has had an extensive career in British television. He is perhaps best known for his role as Captain Frank Hollister in the sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf (1988-1999).
