The Armat Battlefield Systems M230 Baton Round was a type of riot–control projectile predominantly employed by corporate, civilian or police security forces[1] and rarely by the United States Colonial Marine Corps.[2]
Overview[]
The M230 Baton Round could be used with launchers such as the U1 Grenade Launcher[2], the U4 Firebomb Launcher[3], the U4A2 Repeating Grenade Launcher[4] or the civilian U4C Civilian Crowd Control Projectile Launcher.[1] Primarily used during civil disturbances, the projectile consisted of a low–velocity rubber or plastic round capable of incapacitating or even disabling an unprotected human.[1][2]
History[]
According to former Colonial Marine Patrice Riegert, the USCM used the rounds in combination with CS gas to quell a workers' strike at the end of the Cristóbal campaign.[5]
