- "This thing is REALLY pissed off!"
- ―Kevin (from Alien3)
Kevin Dodd[1] was an inmate at the Fiorina "Fury" 161 Class C Work Correctional Unit, one of several who stayed behind after the facility was officially closed down by Weyland-Yutani. He was involved in battling a lone Xenomorph that was born in the prison in 2179.
Kevin was killed acting as bait during a desperate attempt to lure the Xenomorph into the lead mold at the foundry alongside the prison.
Biography[]
Early life[]
In his youth, Kevin was something of an amateur athlete.[4] However, he was also involved in gang crime, and his athletics career was ruined when he was convicted of murder and handed a life sentence on Fiorina 161.[1]
Ripley's arrival[]
When Ripley crash-landed on Fiorina, Kevin assisted Clemens in tending to her in the infirmary. Later, once the revived Ripley demanded to see Newt's body following their arrival of Fiorina, Kevin accompanied her and Clemens to the morgue, noticing Ripley's strange behavior as she examined Newt's body, attempting to discern whether the young girl had been impregnated with a Chestburster. Later, he overheard Ripley and Clemens discussing a little of Fiorina 161's history as he swept the otherwise empty assembly hall. It is likely that Kevin subsequently informed Andrews about their increasingly close relationship, further arousing the Superintendent's suspicious of Clemens.
The bait and chase[]
Kevin survived the explosion and quinitricetyline fire that killed several of the other inmates, and he later agreed to take part in the bait-and-chase plan in the prison's foundry, hoping to lure the Dragon into the lead mold where it could be killed.
Kevin was one of the first to encounter the Runner, discovering it tearing apart Vincent's corpse. He shouted at the creature to get its attention before fleeing. With the Dragon in pursuit, he ran through several hallways until he passed through his assigned door, barely managing to seal the door behind him as the Dragon tried to break through it.
Death[]
The bait-and-chase plan eventually deteriorated into chaos when most of the prisoners were killed. While cautiously passing through a corridor, Kevin looked up—only to be ambushed him from above by the Dragon, which lifted him up and pierced his neck with its inner jaw as the two struggled. Hearing Kevin's screams, Dillon intervened and dragged a screaming Kevin away to the piston room. Dillon attempted to comfort Kevin as he choked on his own blood, but he quickly expired. Seconds later, the Dragon entered the piston chamber. As Ripley and Dillon backed off, the Dragon reclaimed Kevin's body, and in a panic Eric activated the piston prematurely.
