Sergeant Jay Henick, nicknamed "Gristle", was a member of the United States Colonial Marine Corps. He was part of the team dispatched to investigate the USS Sulaco in the video game Aliens: Infestation.
Jay Henick was the constable of a small town in Southwest Texas. Eventually the small town just dried up and Henick became out of a job and a home all at once. He decided to join the Colonial Marines in 2171. At 29 years old, he was the oldest Marine to graduate that year and still finished near top of his class. He attended SOI West, earning the respect and commendations from the ITB instructors there.
Classmates nicknamed Henick "Gristle" due to his overuse of the catch phrase "Hard as Gristle", which he would commonly use to describe any difficult task. Henick was assigned to 2nd Bat. 9th Regt where he saw combat as a Rifleman during Operation Arcturan Freedom and recieved the Bronze Star for his heroism.
When it was time to re-enlist, Henick did so without hesitation. The USCM has become his new job, home and family.
