"Please understand, this is our best shot. Someone's got to re-establish comms."
Hughes (from Alien: Isolation)

Hughes was Seegson Communications Manager on Sevastopol Station, along with his wife Marie, daughter Claire and their cat. When a lone Xenomorph was unleashed on the station by the crew of the Anesidora in 2137, he became one of the survivors desperately waiting for rescue. He was encountered by Amanda Ripley when she arrived on Sevastopol to recover the USCSS Nostromo's flight recorder, which had also been brought there by the Anesidora.

Hughes was killed by a Working Joe android on the order of APOLLO when he attempted to reactivate the station's communications systems to call for help.

A few audio logs recorded by Hughes can be picked up in the station, as well as some that mention him.

Biography

Confrontation in Seegson Comms

Hughes was seen arguing with a Working Joe who was positioned to defend the elevator to the Seegson Comms operations center. He attempted to enter the elevator but was caught by the synthetic. An argument ensued which eventually led to the Joe lunging for Hughes, causing Hughes to shoot the Joe. In response, the Joe grabbed Hughes and threw him against a wall.

As a winded Hughes tries to stand back up, the Joe walks over to him and grabs him a second time before repeatedly smashing his head against the wall until he dies, splattering his blood all over the wall. Amanda looks on in horror as the Joe ends the confliction with a simple "good day" and walks off.

Equipment

Like many survivors aboard Sevastopol, Hughes armed himself with a .357 Revolver, which he eventually used to defend himself against a Working Joe to little avail.
