Scientific American (informally abbreviated as SciAm) is an American popular science magazine. It is notable for its long history of presenting scientific information on a monthly basis to the general educated public, through its careful attention to the clarity of its text as well as the quality of its specially commissioned color graphics.[citation needed] Many famous scientists, including Albert Einstein, have contributed articles to the magazine. It is the oldest continuously published monthly magazine in the United States.

In Alien vs. Predator, a fictional issue of the magazine features Charles Bishop Weyland on its cover, recognizing him as a "Pioneer of Modern Robotics".

Trivia[]

  • The magazine's labelling of Weyland as a pioneer in the field of robotics is clearly a reference to Michael Bishop from Alien3, who claims to have designed the Bishop series of androids.
