The Onager, registration number VD12456CD0C, was a 439SL Class 7 Excavator Vessel originally used by colonists of Hadley's Hope on Acheron for drilling ore, ferrying cargo to low orbit for pickup, and not much else. But it could get off the surface, which was enough for some of the colonists of Hadley's Hope who used the Onager as a makeshift escape vehicle to ferry themselves off planet when the colony was infested by Xenomorphs in 2179.
History[]
When the colony of Hadley's Hope was overrun by a horde of Xenomorphs in July of 2179, the Onager was used as a makeshift escape vehicle that traveled to, and ultimately crash landed on, LV-223. Before escaping LV-426, Xenomorphs snuck aboard the ship, eventually creating a Hive within before unleashing terror on the surviving colonists who were stranded on LV-223.
There were thirty-eight colonists, surveyors, and miners onboard when the Onager set down on the moon the company designated LV-223. At least six of them were dead inside of ten minutes. Some were dragged away screaming.
In 2219, the ship was discovered by the salvage crew of the Geryon, sent to recover the USCSS Prometheus. However, they were attacked by the Xenomorphs that where trapped inside the ship, resulting in the loss of many crew members. The ship's mining capabilities was later used by Captain Angela Foster, Galgo, Elden and the Yautja Ahab to tunnel inside the mountain, which turns out to be a Chemical A0-3959X.91 – 15-mutated Deacon, hoping to find the wreck of the Prometheus within. Once inside the mountain, however, acid blood from one of the Deacon's veins began eating through the Onager, though the group still managed to pilot the ship into a smaller tunnel, where it was abandoned.
