"It was a nightmare! So real, never felt so alone..."
Meeks (from Alien: Isolation (comic))

Meeks was a crewmember aboard the USCSS Anesidora. He was serving on the ship during its fateful voyage in 2137 when it discovered the derelict ship on LV-426, an incident that ultimately unleashed a Xenomorph infestation on Sevastopol Station and led to the destruction of both the station and the Anesidora.

Once the Xenomorph outbreak began, Meeks found himself trapped aboard Sevastopol along with the rest of his surviving crew. At some point, Meeks himself was also subdued by a Facehugger.[3]

Biography[]

Discovering the derelict[]

After recovering the black box from the Nostromo, the crew of the Anesidora followed the flight path data it contained back to LV-426, hoping to locate and salvage the ship itself. Meeks accompanied Captain Marlow, Foster and Heyst as part of the ground team that set out to investigate the transmission they had detected coming from the surface, eventually discovering the derelict.

Inside the crashed ship's cavernous cargo hold, Foster was attacked and subdued by a Facehugger, and even though the creature later detached, apparently without causing Foster any harm, Marlow elected to take her to Sevastopol Station as quickly as possible, seeking medical help. Upon arrival at the station, Meeks confronted Marlow over his intention to take Foster aboard, refusing to accept such a breach of quarantine. Marlow ended up punching Meeks[4] and took Foster aboard the station anyway.

On Sevastopol[]

"How did I get here? What the hell is this place?"
Meeks, dreaming whilst subdued by a Facehugger (from Alien: Isolation (comic))

Following Foster's death in the San Cristobal Medical Facility as a result of the Chestburster she had been impregnated with, Marlow was arrested by the Colonial Marshals, stranding his crew on Sevastopol. As the Xenomorph began taking people and the station descended into chaos, Meeks and Heyst attempted to keep their connection to Marlow and the Anesidora a secret, lest their role in bringing the creature aboard be discovered by the increasingly desperate population.[2] They took up residence in the station's shopping mall for a time, but after Meeks got drunk and told some of the other survivors gathered there more than he should have, they were forced to move on.[2]

At some point, Meeks himself was attacked and subdued by a Facehugger, and he was taken to San Cristobal for monitoring. While unconscious, he experienced vivid nightmares involving strange, half-human, half-Xenomorph apparitions, the derelict and a twisted creature resembling his mother with huge Xenomorph jaws in place of her face.[1] Eventually, Meeks was placed in stasis, presumably in an attempt to halt the development of the Chestburster growing inside him;[3] because of this, it is most likely he perished when the station burned up in KG-348's atmosphere.

Behind the scenes[]

The novelisation of Alien: Isolation gives Meeks' first name as 'Alan'.[5]
