The M-94 Marking Flare was a flare used by the United States Colonial Marine Corps. They were stored in pouches marked with "M-94 MARKING FLARES" that could contain up to 5 flares.
In 2179, Ellen Ripley used M-94s to mark her way through the Xenomorph Hive in Hadley's Hope's Atmosphere Processing Plant on Acheron on her way to find Rebecca "Newt" Jorden.
