The K-Series were a human-created subspecies of Xenomorph, the fruit of Dr. Kadinsky's covert research into the aliens. They were conceived on LV-742, deep in a covert lab where they battled the original strain in vicious hive-hive skirmishes and an eventually an outright war. However, they lost all of these battles and were eventually wiped out.

Creation and Biology[]
The are no details regarding the creation of the K-Series, however their purpose was to be a bio-weapon for Weyland-Yutani. This effort was conducted by Dr. Kadinsky and overseen by Charles Gould, who would use the mining venture on the planet as a cover for their true plans. Presumably, the strain was developed using the eggs left on the planet centuries ago by the Council of Ancients.
Physically and behaviorally, the K-series aliens were similar to the original strain with the exception of their gold-and-silver Mesoskeleton. Varying in shade across castes, it is unknown why the color change occured, though one explanation is to readily distingushed original from subspecies by human observers. There was something inherently deficient in the K-series, however, that prevented them from winning any battle with the original strain.
Established Hives are known to absorb smaller hives in the absence of a Queen, with the victorious Queen only killing the previous hives eggs and Praetorians. The opposite is also true: a Queen-less hive may choose to come under the sway of a hiveless Queen as observed on Ryushi. However, the original strain of Xenomorph wanted nothing less than total genocide of the entire K-series subspecies, indicating they are fundamentally different to Xenomorphs in a way only Xenomorphs could instictively sense.
First Skirmish[]
The K-Series and Original strain would battle head to head in a Weyland-Yutani lab, as Dr. Kadinsky set out to prove the viability of his creation. Natural Xenomorph eggs were taken from the feild by unsuspecting USCM and the creatures were pitted against each other in a death match. Although the K-Series began the battle with a fully mature queen and even a few Praetorians, the original strain outclassed and annihilated the new strain.
The Hive War and Extinction[]

The lab skrimish, however, was not the death of the K-series aliens despite every single one being killed. They are able to get free and run rampant, likely during the firefight perpetrated by the Yautja when they attack the covert lab. Eventually, the K-series runs into a Hive of the original strain once more and again, despite starting the conflict with a larger hive, established Queen, and even larger and destructive strains such as Praetorians and Ravagers, the Original Strain manages to drive them to extinction.

- The K-Series likely stands for "Kadinsky Series"
- The Red Xenomorphs are another strain of differently-colored aliens, although these are the product of natural mutation.
- It is possible that the genetic tampering of the Xenomorph made them deficit in some way so to be inferior to the original strain of Xenomorph, similar to other Altered Xenomorph Varieties.
