Elliot Goldenthal (born May 2, 1954) is an Academy Award-winning American composer of contemporary classical music who composed the soundtrack for the 1992 film Alien3. He is noted for known for his distinctive style and ability to blend various musical styles and techniques in original and inventive ways. Other notable films Goldenthal has worked on include Pet Sematary (1989), Demolition Man (1993), Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994), Batman Forever (1995), Heat (1995), Michael Collins (1996), A Time to Kill (1996), Sphere (1998), Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (2001), Frida (2002), S.W.A.T. (2003) and Public Enemies (2009).

Goldenthal has won an Academy Award for Best Original Score (for Frida) and a Golden Globe, and has been nominated for a further three Academy Awards.
