The Desert Eagle is an Israeli-made (later American) semi-automatic pistol chambered for the .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum and .50 Action Express cartridges. Many sources label it the most powerful magazine-fed semi-automatic handgun commercially available.

Overview[]

The Desert Eagle was designed as a high-powered pistol with military applications in mind, although the weapon has never been adopted by any formal military organization around the world.

Since its introduction, the Desert Eagle has been a common sight in movies and TV shows (with these appearances often grossly overstating its power) meaning the pistol has remained popular despite it's lack of official use.

Notable Users[]

Dutch's mercenary team (with the exception of Dillon) all carried Desert Eagles as their sidearm during the mission to Guatemala, although they never used them. After encountering the Jungle Hunter near a waterfall, Dutch reached for his pistol to defend himself, but found he had lost the weapon along with the rest of his equipment in the river.

Mike Harrigan carried a brushed chrome .357 chambered Desert Eagle fitted with a laser sight as his primary sidearm. He eventually lost it when it slipped out of his holster while he was climbing between buildings in pursuit of the City Hunter.

Max Stafford's mercenaries were all armed with nickel-plated Desert Eagles chambered in .44 Magnum during the Weyland Industries expedition to Bouvet Island, many of them fitted with green laser sights. The pistols were also used by Rusten Quinn, Graeme Miller and Lex Woods.

Poacher Jack Regal carried a Desert Eagle whilst hunting grizzly bears in Alaska.

In Neonopolis, the Desert Eagle was used by Les Serviteurs and the Dead Men.
