Boar

Boar^[2] was a Yautja encountered by Mike Harrigan aboard the Yautja Mother Ship hidden beneath Los Angeles in 1997. He was a member of the Los Angeles hunting party.

Biography[]

Boar is a rare subspecies of Yautja and was born on an island on Yautja Prime. While still a juvenile, his entire clan was wiped out by a rival. Only he and his brother escaped, stealing in order to survive and relying on each other. One of the Yautja they attempted theft on was Greyback, an Elder Yautja. However, instead of punishing the youths, Greyback adopted them into his clan as members.

Boar and his clan mates confronted Harrigan aboard their ship after he defeated the City Hunter in a hand-to-hand duel. Knowing Harrigan had won an honorable battle, they spared him, collecting the City Hunter's body while the group's leader, Greyback, honored the detective with an ancient flintlock pistol. Harrigan escaped the ship before Boar and the other Predators left Earth.

Boar is notable in that he does not appear to carry any weaponry in the film, not even Wristblades.
The original mask and hands that were made for Boar by Stan Winston were formerly displayed in the original layout of the Planet Hollywood restaurant in the Caesar's Palace casino of Las Vegas.
