Fifield is a character in Prometheus portrayed by Sean Harris.
A geologist, he is described as "unstable" after going through many missions, also appears to be very vibrant, as seen from his tattoos, his bright red mohawk, and hawaiian-type outfit.
Prometheus
In Prometheus, Fifield declined a friendly introduction from Milburn, stating that he was hired for the pay. Later during the first trip to the temple, Fifield decides to leave the temple shortly after the discovery of the urn room, saying that it is out of his league as a geologist. Milburn decides to follow him, but the two end up lost in the caves of the temple and are forced to camp out in the temple when a silica storm kick up, leaving the site insaccessible for the night. Fifield is not enthusiastic about being stuck in the temple with Milburn.
However, he warms up to Milburn when they take refuge in the urn chamber together and he becomes easier to deal with after inhaling some "tobacco". While in the chamber, Milburn is attacked by a Hammerpede. In an attempt to remove the xenoform breaking Milburn's arm, Fifield cuts off its head. After doing so, the creature sprays acidic blood onto Fifield's helmet, liquidizing the glass onto his face and causing him to fall backwards into the black discharge from the urns; exposing him to the pathogen.
Fifield later appears outside the Prometheus hangar bay, horribly mutated by the pathogen, with his legs bent over his shoulders; in similar fashion to a resting Xenomorph. He then attacks the crew, killing Wallace, Barnes, Taplow, Sheppard, Vladimir and others before being run over by Chance in the RT-01, gunned down by Jackson and burned to death by Janek.
Personality and Traits
He has a typical "tough-guy" attitude throughout most of the film, even directly and aggressively confronting an impassive Elizabeth Shaw when questioning her about investigating "giant corpses" while inside the Engineer temple. Milburn often tries to form a friendship with Fifield but Fifield merely finds him irritating. Fifield has his "pups", spectagraphs, which scanned and mapped out the Engineer temple to aid in searching it.
