The Praeto-Facehugger[1] was the second stage in the life cycle of the Praetomorph species. Though virtually identical to its Facehugger cousins, it possessed notable differences in cosmetics and in function.
Characteristics[]
As with its mainline Xenomorph equivalent, the facehugger, the Praeto–Facehugger rested inside an egg until a viable host approached, at which point it would emerge. Unlike a traditional facehugger, however, the Praetomorph iteration needed only a scant amount of time to implant its victim with the material necessary to produce a chestburster or, in the case of the Praeto–Facehugger, an Imp. It was also larger in size and less dexterous than a typical facehugger, though it was sufficiently mobile to dodge fire from an RMC F903WE Automatic Assault Rifle, as well as take cover and regroup before launching a more successful attack.
