Elders are Yautja warriors who have distinguished themselves in battle or by their leadership. Predator Elders are seen in Predator 2 and Alien vs. Predator. In Alien vs. Predator, the Elder's armor, clothes, and mask look distinctly different than the other Predators. An Elder in Predator 2 shows respect by giving a centuries-old pistol. Although an Elder is never seen fighting, we can assume that they are skilled in the way of the warrior. Elders are very experinced predators they are the most honored predator warrior beside the ancient they to participate in hunts but prefer to hunt alone. They are shown to be strong, dominant troop leaders.

In the behind the scenes for "Predator 2" the production crew refer the Elder in the film as Greyback, they explain he is similar to a silverback gorilla.
