Davis was a combat android model employed as a corporate security drone by the Weyland-Yutani Corporation in the early 22nd century. In 2137, fifteen Davis synthetics were sent to salvage computer data from the derelict Europa and bring the contaminated ship back to Earth for research. During that mission, Davis One went rogue in hopes of keeping Earth free from contamination.

Visually, they are very basic in appearance, presumably an intentional design choice because of their expendable nature and the company not wanting to waste extra expense. Unlike Joes, however, they seem to possess the same amount of intelligence as any normal synthetic, with at least one security droid, Davis One, breaking its programming and gaining its own personality and free will.

Overall they seem to have more in common with combat androids and can even be called as such since they are built for combat as well as security. Although being unable to physically feel pain, their systems are built to correspond to certain injuries and suggest alternative behavior for greater effectiveness, or even retreat from battle if necessary.[1]

Trivia[]

  • The Davis model's rudimentary design has them share many cosmetic similarities with the Seegson's Working Joe androids.
