CommTechs lead Colonial Marines into battle and have control over the UD-4 "Cheyenne" Dropship, AURORA and carries a movement detector. Without the CommTech, the team is almost useless. They are the "builder" units of the Marines in AVP: Extinction. They also repair damaged Atmos and mechanical units (e.g. synthetics and sentry guns).
