Chris Hanlock[citation needed] was a crewmember who, along with her wife Jill, was part of the crew of the Geryon sent on a 'salvage mission' to the moon LV-223.

Biography[]

Chris was part of the crew to land on the moon and begin exploring the terrain and are met with a lush jungle, bristling with strange alien life. They later come across a field of deceased mauled creatures and a lake of black liquid. The crew comes across a monkey-like creature and Orrie teases Chris, saying it must be the thing she "descended from".

The prime discovery made by the crew however was an old vessel, the Onager, from the colony Hadley's Hope located on the neighboring moon LV-426. Chris points out that the colony "went nuclear" back in 2179. The vessel contained a horde of hostile Xenomorphs which they unwittingly unleash. The Xenomophs kill and wound multiple crewmembers but Chris and others manage to escape.

After the crew pick up Francis Lane who had recently injected his construct companion Elden and had also come across a crashed derelict ship the crew returns to the Helios to see it completely overrun by Xenomorphs, much to Chris' dismay. Jill contacts Chris from the interior of the ship to assure her wife that she's okay.

Chris snaps

Angela suggests that security officers Galgo, Piper and Higgins return to the Perses to use the ship to drive off the Aliens using its weaponry, whilst putting Francis in lockdown. Galgo, Piper and Higgins begin joking around. Chris angrily snaps at Higgins for not taking the situation seriously, with Higgins remorsefully apologizing.

An unhinged Elden, mutated from the black liquid that Francis had injected into him, approached the surrounded Helios and the Xenomorphs allow him to open the hatch. The Xenomorphs stormed into the ship and began slaughtering those inside.

Jill and the remainder of the crew of the Helios manage to escape on ATVs. The crew meet up with Angela's team, reuniting Chris with her lover as they retreat into the derelict ship that Angela and her crew had previously encountered.

Angela, Jill and the rest of the group become ambushed by Xenomorphs. The creatures slaughter the remaining members and only Angela, Jill and Chris survive. They retreat back to Derrick Russell's cave and set up camp.

During a rescue mission by Colonial Marines, Chris is captured by the Xenomorphs and impregnated with a royal embryo. Correctly assuming that her wife has been implanted, Jill makes a deal with Lorimer, a Weyland-Yutani employee. The deal stipulates that she will hand over Chris to the company in order to have the embryo surgically removed, presumably saving the latter's life, and in return the company gets a specimen for their bio-weapons division.

Chris's death

However, a series of events involving the Yautja results in Lorimer's death and thus losing any chance of removing the chestburster. Chris attempts to persuade the others to leave her but they refuse, however, Chris later grabs a dead man's switch bomb with the intent to commit suicide and kill the embryo within her. This action gets herself surrounded by the Xenomorph horde, which distracts them from the others. Before she can kill herself, the chestburster emerges from her, though her death results in her dropping the trigger and blowing up the Xenomorph horde.

Trivia[]

  • Jill and Chris are the second LGBT married couple to be introduced in the comics, the novel of Aliens vs. Predator: Prey had Roth and Jaime but this was downplayed or omitted in the comic version.
