The Outer Rim is the shifting boundary in space which defines the region between Human colonised planets and unpopulated space. In 2122 Acheron LV-426 was outside this boundary, but the construction of Hadley's Hope in the late twenty-second century increased the limits of the Outer Rim and included the Acheron moon.
