Brian Keith McDonald (born February 18, 1965) is an American screenwriter, director, teacher and author who wrote the comcis Predator: Strange Roux and Aliens vs. Predator: Lefty's Revenge for Dark Horse Comics. McDonald has also worked on the independent comic series Bindu, with fellow Predator/Aliens vs. Predator contributor Derek Thompson.
McDonald is an independent filmmaker with years of experience in the movie industry. He worked in the special effects department on the films Return of the Living Dead Part II, Night of the Creeps (written and directed by Fred Dekker), Dead Heat and The Resurrected, among others. He eventually wrote/produced his own independent films Inheritance and White Face.
He also worked for a time in stand-up comedy.
McDonald started in the comic book writing field in 1990 and, in addition to his work on the Predator/AVP line, was also one of the primary contributors to a book called Colors in Black, an anthology book published by Dark Horse in cooperation with Spike Lee focusing on African-American creators. He also worked wrote the comic book sequel to the New Line Cinema film Lost in Space.
More recently he worked on the Hellboy spin-off one-shot Abe Sapien: Drums of the Dead for Dark Horse.
