The Xenomorph XX121AB Bodyburster, also known as the Ariarcus "Bodyburster", was aberrant variant of the Xenomorph, first seen on Ariarcus. [1]

Overview[]

The Bodyburster is born, in certain cases, when the 26 Draconis variant of the Chemical A0-3959X.91 – 15 is introduced to a host that has already being impregnated by a Facehugger. The accelerant acts as a genetic bridge between host's DNA and the alien embryo, resequencing them together. While having a similar timeframe to a standard Chestburster's gestation (the host's stress can also accelerate the gestation), the birth of the Bodyburster is vastly different and involves the host's body undergoing a sub-dermal, skeletal and muscular transformation into the new creature before ripping off it's now useless human skin.[1] If injected with the 26B Draconis Strain, created by Fort Nebraska scientists, the host will automatically give birth to a Bodyburster without the hazardous size of the original strain nor being impregnated with a Chestburster.[2]

A fully formed Bodyburster resembles a large Drone with a more elements of the human skull visible.[1] The most dangerous aspect of the Bodyburster is its fangs, with which it can inject a version of the pathogen into its victim and ultimately cause them to become Bodybursters[1] or Anathemas.[3] The Bodyburster may retain some elements of its hosts mannerisms in order to lure and put doubts in his prey.[1]

Regular Xenomorphs regard the Bodyburster as a tainted threat to the hive and will seek to destroy them.[1]

However after Rodina Station and Fort Nebraska were destroyed, all data pertaining to the Bodyburster was lost. Project Life Force and the Darkstar Program attempted to recreate the creature through genetic manipulation. However, what resulted was the sickly abomination known as the Goreburster.[4]
