Bantam Books is an American publishing company owned by parent company Random House, a subsidiary of Penguin Random House, based in New York City. It was founded in 1945 by Walter B. Pitkin, Jr., Sidney B. Kramer, and Ian and Betty Ballantine. Bantam was responsible for publishing Aliens, Predator and Aliens vs. Predator novels in the United States between 1992 and 1999, releasing these novels under the science-fiction imprint Bantam Spectra.

All of the novels published by Bantam were adaptations of Dark Horse Comics comic book series, with just one exception — Aliens vs. Predator: Hunter's Planet was an original story. Following the publication of Aliens vs. Predator: War in 1999, the rights to publish Aliens/Predator/Aliens vs. Predator novels moved to Dark Horse through their subsidiary DH Press, and new books shifted away from comic book adaptations and began to focus on original stories.

Bantam was only responsible for Aliens/Predator/Aliens vs. Predator novels in the United States; in the United Kingdom, these novels were instead published by Orion Publishing Group
