"Why does it take the heads...Maybe it's just one...Sick...Psycho...Bastard."
―The Bad Blood (from Predator: Bad Blood)

The Bad Blood Predator[1] was a rogue Bad Blood Yautja that wreaked havoc and started a murder spree in the state of New Jersey. Its notoriety earned the attention of the Enforcer Predators, with one Enforcer being sent to Earth to put an end to its disgrace.

It was eventually killed by black-ops member Mandy Graves, but only after it had slaughtered her entire team, including her husband Robert Graves.

Characteristics and Traits[]

"But unlike others of its species, this alien intruder is no sport hunter, but a crazed psychotic, a butcher of its own kind, an unhinged killing machine."
―Description of the Bad Blood in the publisher's summary of Predator: Bad Blood issue #1.

Mentally unstable and totally unhinged, the Bad Blood had freed itself from the restrictions of the Yautja Honor Code, and thus, was free to kill whatever it wanted, whenever it pleased, usually in a brutal fashion. As such, it was considered a severe menace to Yautja society, and had no compunction about slaughtering or even eating its own kind.

Despite its psychotic mental state, the Bad Blood was extremely formidable in combat, and had killed many other Predators, also holding his own against an Enforcer specifically trained in killing criminal Yautja like him.

Unlike most Predators, the Bad Blood preferred to keep the severed heads of its victims as trophies instead of just their skulls. The severed heads are kept on spikes in his lair or on his belt, including those of Chris and Richard Kelso. He even goes as far as to impale a dog's severed head on a spike.

Additionally, he also possessed distinct shoulder plates and knee braces made out of the bones and skulls of his victims, including a Yautja skull on the left shoulder, the spine of an unknown alien across his right shoulder and the skulls of two unknown aliens on his knees. He also modified his wristblades to have three blades instead of the standard two and doesn't have a plasmacaster. Physically, he's tall even by Yautja standards, standing over eight feet tall, and sports a tattoo on his forehead, a left brow piercing and two rings in the chest analogous to nipple piercings.

Biography[]

At some period, a Yautja began a psychotic rampage of the worst offense, killing at least six of his kind. Its despicable acts would earn the attention of the Enforcers, who would relentlessly pursue the Bad Blood on the run. Their chase eventually led to their vessels orbiting Earth, crash landing in the US state of New Jersey.

Rampage in New Jersey[]

"Our target is somewhere in this area. If he breaks our cordon, there's seventeen hundred square miles of pine barrens he can play psycho in. This I will not allow. This bastard will not slip through our fingers, he's in the palm of our hand."

Emerging at nearby a paintball range, the Bad Blood immediately began slaughtering anyone he encountered, including park manager Chris and two guard dogs, taking the former's severed head as a gruesome trophy.

The Bad Blood was later encountered by owner of the range and ex-C.I.A. member John Pulnick, who noticed Chris' head on his belt. He ultimately managed to escape the range after the Bad Blood was distracted by two cops, which he swiftly killed.

The Bad Blood would go on to massacre several squads of Claude Loudermilk's C.I.A. forces, who intended to apprehend the creature and his ship, also encountering John Pulnick again, this time with his team of ex-C.I.A. black ops members and a local sheriff he befriended.

During a skirmish on both sides, the Bad Blood was suddenly ambushed by an Enforcer Predator, sent to track him down and kill him. The Enforcer lunged at the Bad Blood, who almost succeeded in impaling it with a Combistick. Their duel was interrupted when the Enforcer was shot by one of the C.I.A. soldiers. Before the Bad Blood could move in for the kill, the Enforcer was saved when Pulnick, having noticed that the Enforcer was only interested in bringing down the Bad Blood, intervened and had the team shoot the Bad Blood, causing it to flee.

Defeating the Enforcer[]

The Bad Blood continued his killing spree elsewhere, also decapitating Deputy Richard Kelso, who had separated from Pulnick's team. It then encountered three mountain men and their pet dog, killing them all and eating the men's bodies.

The Bad Blood's meal was interrupted by the Enforcer, once again resuming their battle to the death; after a bloody back-and-fourth, the Enforcer overpowered his adversary and prepared to land the killing blow, but the Bad Blood removed the Enforcer's spiked bio-helmet and stabbed the Enforcer in the chest, mortally wounding it.

The Bad Blood stole the Enforcer's Wrist gauntlet and set coordinates for the Enforcer's Mother Ship to land nearby. The Bad Blood left the scene, but not before downing one of Loudermilk's choppers with the Enforcer's spear. The Bad Blood then fled to the Enforcer's Drop Pod.

Final fight and Death[]

The Bad Blood is gunned down by Mandy.

Loudermilk's chopper and his remaining soldiers caught up to the Bad Blood after he reached the spacecraft, but were slaughtered, with the Predator taking Claude's head as a trophy and downing his chopper.

John and the other rogue agents arrived shortly afterwards and took on the Bad Blood themselves. Members Smith and Robert Graves were promptly slain, and Mandy had her hand brutally crushed as she tried to avenge Robert. Pulnick was able to land several shots on the Bad Blood but the creature charged him down and quickly overpowered him. It brutally killed Pulnick, but he distracted the Bad Blood with with Kelso's severed head before he died, giving Mandy an opening where she managed to gun the Bad Blood down, ending his rampancy.

Trivia[]

  • The Bad Blood is arguably one of the deadliest Predators encountered, not only killing well over fifty individuals, but at least six other Yautja and defeating the Enforcer Predator. However, this is debatable, as some of the people the Bad Blood had slaughtered were unarmed innocents that posed no real threat. He was also a cannibal and a sadist, as one particular Yautja corpse on his ship was restrained with ropes while others were missing limbs or organs, he ate human flesh twice during his rampage in New Jersey, he plucked a spider from a tree just to kill it and the Bad Blood even gnaws on the Enforcer's arm during their last fight.
  • The Bad Blood is possibly a rare example of insanity in Yautja culture, which may imply that the mental health of the species is quite similar to that of humans. One other such example is the Devil.
