Arthur was an inmate at the Fiorina "Fury" 161 Class C Work Correctional Unit, one of several who stayed behind after the facility was officially closed down by Weyland-Yutani. He was involved in battling a lone Xenomorph that was born in the prison in 2179.
While he is presumed killed in the explosion and fire that claims several prisoners in the theatrical version of the film, in the Assembly Cut he is killed by the deranged inmate Walter Golic when the latter frees the Xenomorph from the nuclear waste dump in which it is trapped.
He is first seen in the group of prisoners who attempt to rape Ellen Ripley but are stopped when Dillon intervenes. He is present when Andrews gives his second "Rumor Control" speech in the mess hall and is a witness of his death. Arthur is seen again later when the group decide who is in charge. When the prisoners prepare to capture the Runner, Arthur and Troy check their flashlight batteries briefly, and Troy complains about the difficulty of the job. After the explosion, Arthur is in a search party for surviving prisoners, though they find none. He is then put on a guard duty to watch the door of the waste tank. While Arthur is on duty, Golic approaches the waste tank. Arthur tells the insanely babbling criminal to get lost, but Golic quickly slits his throat with a straight razor. Arthur looks at Golic in stunned disbelief, and quickly bleeds to death from the injury while Golic screams a panicked, maniacal apology.
- Arthur is the only character in Alien3 to be killed by another prisoner, Golic, although this only occurs in the extended Assembly Cut.
