Aliens vs. Predator: Special Collector's Edition is a limited release hardcover reprint mini-comic that was first published by Dark Horse Books in February 2010. It was included exclusively with copies of the Hunter Edition of the video game Aliens vs. Predator. The issue collects the original Aliens vs. Predator story from Dark Horse Presents #34-36 and Aliens vs. Predator: Blood Time, originally published in Dark Horse Comics #25. It featured a new, digitally painted cover by Raymond Swanland.
In the Aliens vs. Predator comics line, Aliens vs. Predator: Special Collector's Edition was preceded by Alien vs. Predator: Civilized Beasts, published concurrently with Aliens vs. Predator: Three World War, and was followed by Alien vs. Predator: Fire and Stone.
Aliens vs. Predator: Special Collector's Edition was never offered for individual sale anywhere and was exclusive to the Hunter Edition of Aliens vs. Predator, although the stories in contains were later collected as part of Aliens vs. Predator Omnibus: Volume 1 in June 2007.
Behind the ScenesEdit
A newcomer to the comics field, digital fantasy painter Raymond Swanland also provided cover art for most issues of the relaunch of Dark Horse's Aliens, Predator and Aliens vs. Predator lines in 2009-2010, including covers for a new limited series for each line.
