Aliens vs. Predator: Chained to Life and Death was a short comic book story published by Dark Horse Comics in July 1999 in Aliens vs. Predator: Annual the 6-page story was written by Mark Schultz, illustrated by Tom Biondolillo and edited by Philip Amara.

The story was first reprinted in the limited release AVP movie DVD promo-minicomic Alien vs. Predator: Whoever Wins...We Lose (2005). In wide release, it was reprinted in Aliens vs. Predator Omnibus: Volume 2 (Oct. 2007).

In the AVP comics line, the AVP: Annual was followed by Aliens vs. Predator: The Web (Set.-Oct. 1999).

Plot

An elder Predator at the height of his reputation decides upon a last hunt against their most ancient enemy the Aliens, revealing glimpses of information and insights into the Predators' culture along the way.

Comics writer and illustrator Mark Schultz was quite busy in the three related Aliens, Predator and AVP comics lines for Dark Horse in the late 1990s. In addition to the Chained to Life and Death short, Schutlz also wrote the full mini-series Predator: Hell and Hot Water (1997) and Aliens: Apocalypse - The Destroying Angels (1999) for the company.
