Aliens vs. Predator: Booty (originally Aliens versus Predator: Booty) was a one-shot comic book published by Dark Horse Comics in Jan. 1996 set in the fictional AVP universe. It was written by Barbara Kesel, illustrated by Ron Randall and edited by Bob Cooper. Lettering was by Steve Dutro and colors by Chris Chalenor. The issue featured a painted cover by Den Beauvais.

Booty was eventually collected alongside other AVP comics in Aliens vs. Predator Omnibus: Volume 2 in Oct. 2007, under the new title form "Aliens vs. Predator: Booty".

The story features a pair of Predators who intercept a cargo of aliens and a queen aboard a spaceship bound for the space research station Innominata (from Aliens: Labirynth), and three human crew members who get caught in the midst of the battle.

In the AVP comics line, Aliens vs. Predator: Booty was immediately followed by the six-issue reprint of the original Aliens vs. Predator series entitled Dark Horse Classics - Aliens vs. Predator (1997), and then by Aliens vs. Predator: Eternal (June-Sept. 1998).

PlotEdit

Official description: The Colonial Marines--or people posing to be them--have captured a live Alien Queen! But when pirate Predators attack the Marines, even the toughest fighters in the galaxy might not be able to hold on to her! Enter Evie, Shel, and Norley, three ordinary, if well-armed, human beings who get caught in the ensuing crossfire. By the time they realize that they're really just extras in the big battle scene, it may be too late to escape from the savagery of either the Aliens or the Predators!

Behind the ScenesEdit

For some reason, the release of Aliens vs. Predator: Booty was followed by a two year break in the publication of new material In the AVP comics line by Dark Horse Comics. The series was instead followed by Dark Horse's release of a six-issue reprint of the original Aliens vs. Predator series entitled Dark Horse Classics - Aliens versus Predator throughout 1997.

The next actual new AVP story to be produced would be the series Aliens vs. Predator: Eternal from June-Sept. 1998.

Booty writer Barbara Kesel has worked primarily as a comic book editor in her career, which is the role she mostly served in on Dark Horse's Aliens and Aliens vs. Predator lines, as well. This was her first turn at actually writing an AVP story.

Ron Randall was also artist on the series Predator: Cold War and Predator: Dark River.
