Aliens: The Official Movie Magazine is a promotional magazine containing articles about the 1986 film Aliens, published by Starlog Press. The magazine includes an adaptation of the film in text form, along with articles on several of the principle actors and crew and their roles in the film. Alongside the written information, the magazine contains a wealth of exclusive behind the scenes images.
Originally published in 1986, it is now available to read in its entirety for free via the Internet Archive.
The bulk of the magazine consists of a "Mission Report", a 23-page adaptation of the film's story. The other major section consists of articles on many of the key cast and crew involved in the film, namely Sigourney Weaver (Ripley), Michael Biehn (Corporal Hicks), Paul Reiser (Burke), Lance Henriksen (Bishop), writer and director James Cameron, producer Gale Anne Hurd and special effects artist Stan Winston. Throughout, the magazine is filled with numerous behind the scenes images and promotional stills, including photographs from scenes eventually deleted from the final cut of the movie, such as the Burke cocoon scene.
