Alan Anthony Silvestri (born March 26, 1950) is an Academy Award-nominated American composer and conductor who composed the soundtracks for the 1987 film Predator and the 1990 film Predator 2. He is perhaps best known for his frequent collaboration with director Robert Zemeckis, composing for such major hit films as the Back to the Future trilogy (1985-1990), Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), Forrest Gump (1994) and Cast Away (2000), as well as his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Other notable films Silvestri has worked on include Romancing the Stone (1984), Flight of the Navigator (1986), The Abyss (1989), Death Becomes Her (1992), The Bodyguard (1992), The Quick and the Dead (1995), Judge Dredd (1995), The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996), Volcano (1997), The Parent Trap (1998), Stuart Little (1999), What Lies Beneath (2000), The Mummy Returns (2001), Lilo & Stitch (2002), Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life (2003), Van Helsing (2004), Night at the Museum (2006), Beowulf (2007), G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009) and Ready Player One (2018).

For his work on Predator, Silvestri won a Saturn Award for Best Music. In addition to this, he has been nominated for two Academy Awards (Best Original Score for Forrest Gump, Best Original Song for The Polar Express) and has won an Emmy and two Saturn Awards.
