Alan Dean Foster.

Alan Dean Foster (born November 18, 1946) is an American writer of fantasy and science fiction who wrote the novelizations of Alien, Aliens and Alien3. He is also set to write the novelization of Alien: Covenant, as well as the prequel novel Alien: Covenant - Origins. Foster is a prolific creator of and contributor to book series as well as the author of more than 20 single novels. He is especially prolific in his novelizations of film scripts; aside from the Alien films, he has written the novelizations in the Star Trek, Star Wars, Terminator and Transformers franchises.

  • Among the films novelised by Foster are Darkstar, which was written by Alien co-writer Dan O'Bannon, and Outland, which has frequently been compared to Alien due to it's remarkably similar aesthetic and comparable themes.
